It is with great sadness that I was informed today of the news of the death of Marina Galanou.
Marina Galanou was the dynamic president of the Transgender Support Association in Greece with intense active activist activity in support of trans rights for decades. She was the editor of the publishing house and bookstore "Colorful Planet" from which books by Jenny Cheiloudaki, Eva Koumarianos and other writers of the LGBTI community have been released. He actively supported many three people, and was an example that inspired even more.
We worked with Marina many times and she visited Cyprus several times to help, as a special expert of the Council of Europe, in the promotion of the draft legal recognition of gender identity. I am incredibly saddened by the fact that she has not been able to see the result of her actions.
Her eternity is memory.
